The end of Spring

First off I am so sorry for the MAJOR lack of updates! School has been hectic these past few months, however I have just finished with my spring semester and now have 3 wonderful months off!
There is so much I'd like to blog/post on here so prepare for a lot more new updates!
Anyways I've been shopping at H&M lately. I am in love with their Divided line, the styles are so funky and vivid! I was even more happy when my dad sent me an H&M friends and family coupon for Memorial day weekend! I'm unable to post the actually coupon but if you google it I'm sure you find it. You can also sign up HERE for future events and coupons!

So a few weeks ago I celebrated my 21st birthday! A friend of mine gave me a Sanrio giftcard so I ended up going downtown to shop at the Sanrio store for some goodies.
While shopping at Sanrio, I discovered a whole collection of Hello Kitty products released by designer, Tarina Tarantino . Her collection is fabulous, it is called "Pink Head" and basically features Hello Kitty with cool punky pink hair in different styles. Here are some products from her line:

RUSSIAN NOUVEAU RIBBON NECKLACE $195

PINK HEAD RUSSIAN NOUVEAU MEDALLION $95

PINK HEAD MOD MASCOT NECKLACE $130

Cute right? Anyways you can check out Tarina Tarantino's collection at select SANRIO stores and also at JEST JEWELS. I still have not picked up my Tarina Tarantino necklace. Perhaps when I get another Sanrio gift card!

Have you ever shopped at a place called Crossroads? Well every year they have a fashion photo contest. This year my roomate is entering some of her photos in the contest so please take a few seconds to click HERE to vote for here! When you click on the link search under Photographer last name for: Ordonia. She's got 4 gorgeous photos up so please show her some love and support! Good luck Julie!

To conclude today's blog here is my latest findings in fashion!:
  • For all my city friends, Stonestown has just opened up a new H&M where the old A + Fitch used to be (Between Nordstrom/Claires). I was there at the grand opening...very big store with lots of cool stuff. However, be aware that they only carry women's clothing at this location.
  • Wet Seal is having a $5 $10 $15 sale this weekend. Also select redlined clearance items are buy 1 get 1! Bottoms are mostly $15 and various tops/tees are $5/10. I picked up several redlined tops this past week and even got a Paris Blues denim skirt for free! I love buy 1 get 1 deals!
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYONE!!!!

Spring dresses

Hi all. Long time no blog!
Anyways I am super excited for Friday. I have an interview for an internship with a fashion website that will be launching in the summer! Hopefully that will motivate to keep up with my blog more often!
Anyways lately things have been quite busy for me (mostly with school, work, and my new "work out" plan at the gym). But I wanted to urge you all to check out Wet Seal!
I think Wet Seal is underated...I mean compared to Forever 21, I believe their prices are cheaper and their clothes is better quaility! I have recently picked up several dresses for spring here and got them at great prices (if you have a discount card you also save 10% on each item!). Here are some of the dresses I picked up for your viewing pleasure...

Hope you enjoyed these cute dresses. Anyways my best friend is coming up to visit me next week and I am stoked! Until next time...Happy Spring!

Betsey Johnson Party Dresses

I only own 1 Betsey Johnson dress but I am absolutely in loooove with her party dress collection! While shopping at Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego a few weeks ago I rememeber going into the Betsey Johnson boutique and getting able to see some of these dresses. They're so pretty and fluffy! The colors kind of remind me of pastel colors used in the movie, Marie Antoinette or something. Just gorgeous!

SB Cupcakes and the Academy Awards!

So after a long hiatus (school has been taking up so much of my time...okay, and also I'm just to lazy to blog these days!) here is the first post for the Spring!

I am still having a cupcake obsession and recently discovered that Starbucks now sells cupcakes! I still had a leftover giftcard from Christmas so I went ahead and bought the cute pack of 2 for $3.50 (compared to other cupcake places I have been, this was actually VERY VERY cheap!). Here is a sweet little pic of the cupcakes before they were gobbled up by me:

Cute right? Well they unfortunately did not taste as good as they looked. I guess I am still in love with Kara's Cupcakes the most. They were fair, sweet but not lacked moisture. They were still cute to look at though!:

So the Oscars were on Sunday night and I mainly watched the arrival show on E! I haven't actually seen any of the nominated films this year except for Little Miss Sunshine so I didn't really have an opinion about who should/shouldn't win.

Oscar Fashion seemed a little boring this year and my 2 of my top 3 best dressed were the same as my picks from the Golden Globes! Here's what I thought:

Reese always looks great and she is starting to become one of my favorite fashion celebs! This dress is simple and elegant and I absolutely love Reese's hair style (bangs rock!)

Helen Mirren was another one of my favorites. I think she looks soo good for her age and she always seems to choose the appropriate dress for her that is still stylish and sexy.

A new favorite of mine was Jessica Biel. I looooved the color of her dress and I love the black belt that went along with it. This was another simple yet elegant dress. This was a perfect pick for the Oscars!

On a totally separate note, while watcing the Oscars, I also realized how cute Leonardo DiCaprio still is. After the release of Titanic back in the 90's I (with probably many other teeny boppers) went through the whole Leo obsession phase. Leo has really grown up, he's in like every new Martin Scorsese film! So the following picture is for your viewing pleasure...

Sweets, a toothache, and the Golden Globes!

On Saturday, I ended up getting a wisdom tooth pulled in fear of it causing other problems in my mouth. The result was three days of bed rest, taking two different pain medications, and my face looking like a peanut shell on one side. Unfortunately, this didn't stop me from going out in search of new dessert places!

This morning I ended up going to Ambrosia Bakery located at Ocean Ave. This bakery had lots of delicious looking pastries inside (such as blueberry muffins and giant chocolate chip cookies!) but the thing that caught my eye were the cute little mousse cakes behind the glass window. I ended up purchasing three of them for $11 total (not bad for cute little custom made cakes). See for yourself:

(From left to right: Mango mousse / The Chocolate Hive / Rasberry mousse)

The cakes were each very delicous and sweet! They were very moist and soft to eat (remember I'm recovering from a tooth pulling). I have come across many little cakes like this before at grocery stores and Chinese bakeries, but Ambrosia does a good job at making sure their cakes are distinct from the rest of the pack.

Ambrosia is located at 2605 Ocean Ave in San Francisco. They also serve cakes and sandwiches!

In addition to my findings at Ambrosia, just a few weeks ago, I also came across some delightful looking cupcakes at Bristol Farms located in downtown San Francisco at the new Westfield Mall. Bristol Farms is known for being a classy grocery store but finding cupcakes that were only $2.99 seemed like a steal to me!

Lately, I've had a weird obsession with cupcakes. No, I've never been to Magnolia Bakery in New York yet but I do intend to drop by there sometime during the summer! I just love the idea of eating a classy little cupcake that is not made from a box with store bought frosting. Anyways here is picture of the wonderful cupcakes I picked up from Bristol Farms a few weeks ago:

(From the left to right: Strawberry / Java)

(From left to right: Rasberry + White Chocolate / Chocolate)

These cupcakes were unforunately a bit dry...possibly because they had been refrigerated too long. But they were bigger than normal sized cupcakes and they had heaping amounts of frosting and shavings on them! Next time, I would probably leave them out of the cold.

Enough with sweets...lets talk about fashion! I must be very behind in my blogging since I am just now talking about the Golden Globe Awards! I was a bit disappointed with alot of the dresses that I saw but I did see several that I thought were really stunning!

I loooved Katherine Heigl's gorgeous black dress. It totally reminded me of something I'd see in a prom magazine. The bottom part of her dress is my favorite. Its soo glamourous!

Another one of my favorites was best actress winner, Helen Mirren. I thought this dress was so approriate for her. I loved the fact that she wasn't afraid to show any skin. The color also is very in this season.

My favorite overall would have to be Reese Witherspoon! This girl never seems to disappoint when it comes to fashion! I loved this little yellow dress on her. Yellow, to me is a difficult color to pull off but Reese totally made it work!

Thats all for now folks...check back soon for new blogs! It feels good to be back!
